i am hospital coder
dr did card cath/ b/l lower extremity angio, abdomen aortagram, and place multiple coils for upper branch iliac and multiple coils in lower branch iliac. my question is can i bill 37242 twice or since its same branch 37242 should be billed once for same iliac artery. i don't have actual report
 
37242 is only billed once per operative field. so in this case it sounds like only the iliac artery was treated and 37242 should be billed just once. might be best to get a copy of the report and see how it was documented since embolization codes vary by the condition being treated.
