Could I get some opinions on the best code to use for bursitis of foot that is not in the "ankle or tarsus"? My doctors always use 726.79 for bursitis anywhere in the foot. But that does not seem right if the bursitis is at say, an mtp joint. Any thoughts?

There is no specific bursitis code for the foot phalanges, bursitis of the foot is properly coded as 726.79, therefore your provider is coding correctly. hope this is helpful.
