Patient has 64418 suprascapular nerve block for pain control along with a major joint injection (20610) in the L. shoulder for monoarthritis and osteoarthritis. CCI edits bundle the two together and since this pertains to the left shoulder and no additional anatomical areas are injected, the suprascapular injection cannot be unbundled with modifier 59, correct? Again, the block was furnished for pain relief and not furnished as part of the actual joint injection procedure. The block would be billable if it were a separate session, but since it is not are we relegated to only billing for the injection (20610?)
