Nerve conduction studies - Scenerio: The hospital that the physician works in does not have a technician to help with the testing , a NCS technician. The physician completes the testing and interpretation.
The hospital bills the techical component because they provide all expenses for the staff, supplies, equipment and space. They do not provide the technician so the physician does all of the testing.

Can the hospital bill the technical component? Probably so, but is there a way to modify it to show that the technician is not included?

By billing the technical component and not providing a technician, is the hospital collecting for the professional efforts of the physicians who is performing nerve conduction studies? If so, is there any way that we can modify the facility fee or the physician's fee to show that the physician completed the testing?

thanks!
