Hello Members,

My name is Jodie and I recently completed a medical coding and billing training program. I am a career changer, having been a teacher for a number of years. I am currently a tutor and substitute teacher, hoping to find entry-level clerical employment in a medical office. My long-term goal is to work as a medical coder.

At this stage in my career change, I am preparing for the CPC examination and hope to network with medical coders and/or billing specialists in my area. I would be very interested to hear about your work, how you entered the field, and any tips you have for a career changer. I am based in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois.
