Hello, I have a question on a surgery for a replacement of the electrode on a patient that had a previous battery and
electrode placed but it quite working.. so the Dr. Replaced the electrode but removed the battery ( pt requested that the same battery be used
as it was just recently placed). Dr. connected the electrode to the battery placed back into the pocket and closed in layers.

Our coding manager is wanting to call the battery a revision 64595
Can anyone take a look at this one.
Thanks,
Carol

that would be correct in the coder desk reference the description to this code states: revise with or without replacement, if the procedure is done for malfunctioning unit is checked and repairs or new unit inserted. Even though this wasn't replaced site was opened and new electrode connected and probably tested.
Don't forget to also code the replacement of the electrode:)
