Hello fellow coders,

I have a question so I work for a pediatric OT and ST office and we are thinking of using codes 97550 and 97551 with codes 92507 for speech and 97530 for OT. Any advice on billing those and if any mods will be needed?

Hello Ashtonmr32,:)😛🎧
Here is some data may help you for billing & coding speech therapy....modifiers to use GN for speech therapy, GO or GP for occupational therapy & modifiers 96 & 97 if supported, Add referring doctor on claim, minutes need to be in documentation & description of treatment in conjunction with proper dx codes. CPT codes for speech therapy is CPT 92502-92526 and 92610-92616. I see CPT 97530 and 97533 . The CPT 97550 or 97551 is caregiving training which looks fine. Usually use dx Z74 blocks or Z71.82 last on claim or Z09 follow up. Then use more definitive dx, codes as first such as: R49.1 R47.8 , F80, I69, R49 . Also if it is pre authorized usually for 30 day period ensure the dx approved is added on claim.
I hope helped you somewhat. Have a good day!!
