Does anyone know if the same rules apply:

Previously you could not bill a consult on a patient that was seen pre-op for cardiac clearance that was then seen post op for the same problem.

can you bill a 99221-99223 on the patient is seen post-op or do you have to bill the 99231-99233? I was just wondering since technically Medicare does not have consults anymore?

First visit?

If this is the first visit by your doctor during this hospitalization, I would use the initial visit codes, otherwise use the subsequent visit codes.
