Our pain management practice is just starting to do the MILD/PILD Procedure 62330 and 62331. I am hoping to get some assistance with the billing of MAC anesthesia. I do not see an appropriate anesthesia code for this procedure. The closest we could come up with is 00630. However, that is not a covered code for MAC anesthesia under the Medicare medical policy. Looks like the only choice on the policy is 00635 for lumbar spine which is clearly wrong in my mind. It's been a long time since I have done anesthesia coding/billing but I seem to recall Medicare only accepting the actual anesthesia codes for anesthesia. It seems the more I research, I am more confused. I'm not sure at this point if we can even bill MAC anesthesia for this procedure.

Any suggestions or help much appreciated. Thank you in advance.
 
The ASA Crosswalk lists 01942 for this procedure.

If you're going to report anesthesia services I highly recommend your practice purchase the ASA Crosswalk and ASA RVG book.
