If a patient was consulted at 8 am (note was made) and later at 11pm that night went in to cardiac arrest resulting in critical care services provided by the same physician...if documented appropriately, can I bill for both since 2 seperate incidents? If not can you direct me where it states I am unable?
thanks!

Yes you may bill both

If properly documented, yes , you may bill both ... you will need a -25 modifier on the hospital visit.

Most likely you will get a denial ... so be prepared with documentation that supports the unique nature of each of these visits.

Hope that helps.
