I work for a tb clinic. I am noting that a lot of the tb tests are being done on patients we have never seen before. Often times we never see them again after the reading of the tb test. How does the new patient status affect the reading that is commonly billed out as 99211? My confusion comes because the code 99211 is for an established patient. What are the thoughts on this topic? I can't find anything that specifically addresses this type of scenario. Maybe I am missing something.
