My provider saw a patient with a breast mass that was detected on routine mammogram, we sent the patient for an ultrasound guided biopsy. The patient returns to the clinic with an invasive breast cancer diangosis. Could you count this is a new problem to the provider? I think no, this is an established problem with a more definitive diagnosis. Thoughts?

not a new problem, but an existing patient with a now definitive medical condition...for example, pediatric patient with sore throat and fever. Dx: sore throat, fever. Sent swab for lab analysis and the definitive diagnosis was Strep...same sore throat, just with more specificity due to lab.
