In PA, Personal Injury (WC/MVA) onboarding a Neuro today to start tomorrow. I have questions about how many (EMG tests) regions or extremities can be billed per DOS? Any info on EMGs would be helpful. Thank you.
 
Hi, I am not an expert. We code based on MD's documentation. the max number of extremities is 4. You can check MUE for each CPT to see how many times per DOS. I don't have a tip sheet but information in CPT book and Appendix are very helpful. It's lot to remember.
 
Agree, use the CPT Appendix for this code set.
Also, if dealing with WC and personal injury rules may me different or not in alignment with CPT/CMS.
