New to Plastic Surgery

I have been a CPC for almost 5 years now and I will be starting a new position as a CPC for a plastic surgeon. This will be a first for me working with a speciality as I have always worked with general physician and some hospital inpatient coding but either way I think this will be good for me because I am always eager to learn and I like a good challenge.

Any suggestions or helpful hints from CPCs in the Plastic Surgery world that could help me get started and prepared for my new career?

Get the CPT Coding Coder CD frp, ASPS. Loads of good coding info from Dr J. Also, ask your surgeon to send you to the ASPS Coding Workshop and network, network, network with other Plastic Surgery coders.
