According to the Ingenix procedures manual, the 73718 is for "lower extremity other than joint" and the 73721 is for "any joint of the lower extremity". Hope that helps.

need more help
I would like to know how I can tell the difference between a 72721 & 73718 by reading the MR report, not by what the "order" says.
If you had no order (i know you need one-hypothetically) - you only had MR report - what would you need to see in the report to make you choose between these 2 codes?
