Medicare guidelines needed:
A Medicare patient presented to our Family Practice for an initial visit. It was later determined that this patient had been seen in a Prime Care office (within the last 3yrs) that shares our TIN.
Is there documentation to determine whether the patient should be new or established due to the previous Prime Care treatment as well as them being evaluated by our PA?
I've read the Guidelines, but still need some guidance due to our specialty, the treating provider and our shared TIN. Thanks!
