A newborn was seen in the hospital for routine visits by one of our providers. Then came to our clinic for the first well visit a few days later. A different provider (same specialty) codes a new patient visit for clinic visit. I believe this should be an established visit as patient was seen in the hospital. Just need clarification. Thx.

You are correct - same speciality, same group within the past three years. Place of service doesn't matter.
