If a physician saw a patient a year ago in a hospital/office and then he/she resigned and moved to another hospital or office, how can we code the visit? The new hospital has a new tax ID and that patient is new for this new hospital. Is this a new patient or established? Thanks for your help.

Face-to-face professional service is the key here. Should be billed as an established patient to be compliant.

Thank you very much for responding so fast. I have a lot of patients that are coming to see this physician from the other hospital and I wanted to make sure if these are new patients for this facility or not.
