Hello again,

I have a patient who underwent an ex lap, LOA, resection of distal duodenum/jejunum/creation of lateral duodenostomy and placement of trauma back pack on 12/17/09.

Do I bill out the trauma back pack? If so, where would I begin to look for this??

Also, the patient underwent repeat ex laps on 12/18, 12/19, 12/21 (reopening of ex lap dictated), 12/23 (reopening of ex lap dictated), 12/24 (reopening of ex lap dictated). She had all of these operations due to

Would I bill out 49002 for the 12/18 and 12/19, even though they did not dictated reopening of lap? For these days, they talk about the vac pack.


Also on 12/21, a Wittman patch was placed and then removed. Where would I find these in the CPT code.

Thanks for your help. This case is very difficult.
