What DX code do you use for the discharge of an infant either by normal delivery or c-section?

In one of my billing links I get it says to use V30.00 for normal delivery or V30.01 for c-section and then V20.2 for any subsequent visits, but what do I use for the discharge code?

You would use the v30.00 or v30.01 depending on the type of delivery. The cpt code will let them know its a discharge so you dont need a different dx. Once the patient comes to the pediatricians office you begin using the v20.2 although those codes are changing on 10/1/09 to v20.31 0-7 days and v20.32 8-28 days then v20.2 for over 28 days. Hope this helps !

v20.31 & v20.32

does anyone know if the new codes v20.31 & v20.32 can be used with e&m
procedure codes 99212 & 99213 when a newborn comes in for a weight check ? thanks
