IF NEWBORN DISCHARGED FROM THE HOSPITAL AND THE PROVIDER WOULD LIKE THE NEWBORN TO BE SEEN 2 - 3 DAYS AFTER DISCHARGE AND THAT DAY LANDS ON THE WEEKEND THE PROVIDER WILL HAVE THE POSTPARTUM NURSE SEE AS A OUTPATIENT AT THE HOSPITAL. WE HAVE CODED IT TO V20.31 OR V20.32 DEPENDING ON THE AGE. IT IS GETTING DENIED PLEASE HELP WHAT SHOULD I USE?:confused:
 
As far as I can tell, it looks like you're using the right ICD-9 codes. What are you using for your CPT? That's the only thing that might be causing the denial that I can think of.
