How do you code a newborn hearing screen performed at the peds outpatient clinic? These are typically done prior to discharging the infant, but sometimes is not performed at the hospital. There are 3 codes to choose from and I'm not sure which one to choose:
92551 - pure tone, air only, screen
92552 - pure tone audiometry threshold
92567 - tympanometry impedance testing

CDR for Procedures definition looks like I would want to choose 92567 since the 1st two need the patient to identify the sounds - do you agree?

Also, what is the difference between 92551 & 92552? Is it that 92551 is for screening and 92552 is more for diagnostic exams?

Thank you!
