Question- I have a Hospital superbill that is marked
11/6/09 99463 ( NB HX exam & Discharge {same day})
11/6/09 54150 (Circumcision)
but the patients Date of birth is 11/5/09 so wouldn't I need to do a 99462 (Sub hosp care and a 99238 (discharge)
I received a Denial from the insurance stating that the Procedure is not consistant with the patients age. I just want to make sure I have it right or if im way off. Thanks for your help.
 
You only get one or the other, the sub care or the discharge, unless the provider did see the patient on 1/5 and 1/6.

ok just so I have it right. the patient wasn't seen at all on the 5th only the 6th for the initial exam and then discharged on the same day. but since it wasn't on his DOB then I cant use the 99463 I have to use the 99460 but I don't do a discharge as well because he didn't discharge him on another day right?
