Hello,

The two codes to use for nonendoscopic peg tube replacement is 43762 (w/o requiring revision on gastronomy tube) and 43763 (requiring revision on gastronomy tube), what does REVISION mean ?? Does it mean that the provider is closing the old area and creating a new entry point for the new tube to be put in.

Please help with what exactly it means.

Thank you

Hello Preethi,

CPT 43762 ( w/o revision means the same site is used to place a gastronomy tube, mean removal the previous one and inserting the new one through same gastrotomy site).
CPT 43763 (W/ revision means the previously placed gastronomy tube is removed and site is closed, and physician makes a new site for the placement of the tube). Hence revison simply means closing the previous one. I hope this finds well as per my understanding, waiting for fellow coder to comment.

Thanks you
