What are the signature requirements for Nonpatient lab orders? We mainly recevie nonpatient orders from Home Health Agencies and Nursing Homes. A lot of the times the nurse will just write in the Drs name with no signature. We have trouble getting the physician to sign the orders. Is it required for the Physician to sign? Some argue that since it is a verbal order for a nonpatient acct, it does not need a signature? I have been getting the signatures but it has been a tedious process. Thanks for your input!
