I have a patient that had an abnormal pap, came in a year later and pap is normal. What code should I use? Z01.42- (Encounter for cervical smear to confirm findings of recent normal smear following initial abnormal smear) seems like the patient already had an abnormal smear, a normal smear, and then on the second normal smear this code would be used. What about the first normal smear?
