I asked a question about SNF and consolidated billing and have finally found the correct answer!

Now I wonder, if a patient is in an inpatient rehab facility and they are transported to our office, how is this billed?

I have billed Medicare and they took the money back using an office visit with POS 11. I have billed the inpatient rehab facility and they say they are not responsible, Medicare is. I have billed Medicare again, this time with POS of 61 (Inpatient rehab facility) and it was denied due to wrong POS.

If the pt is transported to your office by the facility, the ov is billed to the facility. They like to say they are not responsible, but according to medicare guidelines they are responsible and they must comply.
