Our internist office has a house call department with NP's & PA's that visit patients on a regular basis.

One of our Nurse Practitioners went to see her patient today who has incontinence and unable to get to the bathroom. He has a visiting nurse that only comes in 2x's a week. On this visit as in many other visits the patient was covered in his own urine.

Aside from her normal check up our NP decided the patient needed clean sheets, a bath and clean clothing.

The question is, as our NP spent 70 minutes on what should have been a follow up visit, are we able to bill for the bathing? we are a general practitioners office with NP's and PA's that go to the home, they are not aids or attending nurses so we are not sure if this is even billable for us.

Any help would be appreciated
