I know that if an NP/PA sees a new patient, it must be billed under his/her own NPI. However, if a physician and the NP/PA see a new patient together (the NP/PA is a new employee to our practice), can the NP/PA document any part of the visit and bill "incident to" under the physician's NPI? Or does the NP/PA have to act as a "scribe" in this situation?
