If an NP is not an employee of the hospital, can a shared visit be performed for hospital care? Our physicians and NPs are not employees of the hospital, but would like to utilize an NP during patient rounds to perform part of the visit. I appreciate any feedback. Thank you!

You need to read up on shared visit, look at CR1776.
It is not whether they are employees of the facility,
A shared visit is where the NP performes part of the encounter and ON THE SAME DAY the physician also sees the patient face to face and performes his own assesment, this must be a separate note by the provider noit just signing off on the NP note. Then you may combine the two notes and assign one visit level. This is not allowed for new patients or consults.
