Wiki NP taking call at night seeing hospital patients first

We have hired an NP to take hospital call at night. If he sees a patient and then the physician has to come how is this billed?

If both the NP and the physician both saw the patient in the hospital and performed an E&M service on the same day, this would be considered a 'split/shared' visit. You would bill a single E&M code for both services and you can bill under either provider as long as both have documented a face-to-face service.
