hey guys,
I know previous discussions on this but just wanted to confirm because all the articles I've seen are pretty old. If pregnant patient comes in with false labor and contractions and pelvic pain she it at term. She was admitted for observation but then discharged and did not deliver 24 hours later can i charge for the NST that was done or no because it was considered labor check for the mother and not well being of the baby even though pelvic pain and contractions?

thanks so much!

Yes, if she was d/c without delivery, that NST and/or observation visit is billable.
thanks! and do you know if patient is having pelvic pain and contractions if nst done if i can still charge because it's technically not done for the well being of the baby but instead the well being of the mother? I've been seeing some guidance that you can't?
thanks so much!
