If the physician documents "NST not graphing continuosly for >20 minutes, +accels category I," would you append a modifier 52 since it was less than 20 minutes, or can you even code the NST at all? Thank you!
 
I would at least try to bill this with your modifier. I'ld include in box 19 of the claim the total time that was graphed. The worst is they'll deny it.
