Does ordering a nuclear myocardial perfusion imaging study (78452) automatically qualify a cardiovascular visit for a level 5 E/M. I do not believe it does. Does anyone have documentation to support whether it does or does not.

not by itself. when selecting an E/M for an Est. patient you need 2 of 3 components. (history, exam, and mdm) 2 of the 3 must meet level 5 in order to charge that. your cpt book has the guidelines in it for reference.
