Wiki NUMBER OF GUIDANCE CODES FOR RT & LT JUGULAR LINES

If IR Doc places two central lines (say Rt & Lt Jugular) in one session, both with Fluoro and US guidance, how many times does one bill 76937 and 77001? Is the direction to bill guidance codes for each site unless it is a Medicare patient? Would love some input on this. Thanks so much.

MUE is two for these codes, so I would code 36556-50, 76937-50 and 77001-50. You may have to code them separately with a modifier rt & lt with 59, depending on payer.
