We had a pateint in our ER that needed to be transported to a higher level of care, but EMS was unable to handle it on their own, so it was medically necissary that a RN go with them in trasport. I've looked for a CPT or HCPCS but can't find anything that descirbes the service. 99082 is for physician transportation, is there anything for a nurse? Thanks!

NP?

If the nurse is an NP then you use the "physician" transport code if applicable. AND you bill under the NP's own name/number.

Hope that helps.
