Hi,
I have just started a position at a FQHC that has nurse midwives. I have not billed for them before. I am wondering if anyone can help me with some resources for this?

Am I able to use them as the billing provider for their antepartum and postpartum services?

I appreciate all comments and resources...
Thanks,
Kristin

Hey Kristin,

I am in an FQHC also, and we have a nurse midwife as well. With our commerical carriers we bill her claims under her supervising MD NPI - as that's how she is credentialed. For Medicare and Medicaid we bill under her NPI. Not sure if that helps at all. We are actually recredentialling all of our mid levels so that we will no longer bill "incident to" for any of our providers.

Good luck!
