If a Women's Hospital staff NP's to cover nights for OB physicians in the area, would the NP be able to bill for his/her E/M services. The NP is employed by the hospital. The NP will access patients, treat and release when applicable. If patient is in labor then physician will be contacted and take over care of patient. The NP will not provide any inpatient services nor delivery.
