If a patient is schedule to see the nurse and the patient is being taught how to give themself a shot would this code be 99211 since it is a minimal visit and there is not a doctor needed?

yes, if your nurses document their services and their documentation supports it ... we do use 99211 for our nurse visits only. (teaching, immunizations, depo's, etc). BUT - they support it with documentation.
