I am helping out in another area of our group today....so bare with me here....
We have a physician who is doing rounds at nursing homes. These patients have had some type of surgery plus additional chronic diagnosis. Am I correct in that if he is seeing these patients only to assess them in follow up of their surgery that all of these visits including discharge from the nursing facility would be included in the global surgery days.
However, if his notes support him following up on their chronic condition such as DM then we would add a modifier 24 for these visits?
