I thought I was told one time that if a nursing home resident comes to the physicians office for an appointment that the nursing home should be billed for the services, not Medicare. Does anyone know if this is true?? Any input would be appreciated! Thank you!

If they are a true "SNF" patient then yes. If not, you can bill medicare. I would call the nursing home, they would know the status of the patient. Most homes usually do not allow their patients to leave the facility to see an outside doc since they know this would be bundled and would be cutting into their payments.
