There are codes that are billable to commercial payers and Medicare, provided your nutritionist is an RD, CDE; for example, G0108 and G0109, for Diabetes management, and G0270 and G0271 for medical nutritional therapy. Be sure to read the code descriptions in HCPCS, and check with your CMS contractor to make sure these are accepted. Some commercial payers will credential a registered dietitian.
There are also codes in the medicine section of CPT specifically for non-physician providers, for Medical-nutritional services, 97802-97804, and 98960-98962 for patient (nutrition) education using a curriculum. These are specifically for nonphysician healthcare providers, but you'd have to check with your payers to see if they allow you to bill incident-to, or if you can credential your nutritionist.
