Hello,

Are we able to use codes 009 in outpatient OB Triage visit and more than one at once.

For example patient age 37, 12wks pregnant with her 5th child and has not received prenatal care yet. Can we use O09.529 and O09.30 together?

Yes O09 dx codes can be coded for triage/prenatal orientation visits and yes, more than one can be assigned. And O09 are always the primary dx code.

Make sure to assign prenatal codes by trimester and code the number of weeks pregnancy...

Example: O09.521, Z3A.12
