Anyone do OB coding in Tennessee? Our company just brought on an account for an OB doctor in Tennessee and looking at the claims for the last year, no global codes have ever been used (59400, 59510) instead prenatal care 59425 or 59426 is being billed on a separate claim and then delivery and PP care on another claim (either 59410 or 59515) All insurances are paying all claims this way (????)

also, when the doctor does a circumcision, the claim is going out with the baby's mother as the patient, (nothing about the baby on the claim) and these are also getting paid (??)

I code for OB's in Georgia, Pennsylvania and Illinois and I have never seen this

Any insight would be great

This does sound all wrong no matter what state you live in. Is they are doing the complete package then they should bill the appropriate Delivery codes. Yes the circu. should only go on the childs chart never the mother. Good luck to you.
