I am looking for any advice on how to code uncomplicated inpatient labor management on a delivery only service. I was told to capture H&P and all antepartum progress notes if patient does not delivery within 24 hours. Do you capture any pre labor management services if the patient is not considered a global delivery? CPT guidelines says, "When reporting delivery only services, report inpatient postdelivery management and discharge services usig E/M service codes. When I read this, I take it that any uncomplicated inpatient labor management services are included in delivery. Any help is much appreciated.
