Hello
Are we able to bill for diabetic teaching as out of global package? Our providers spend a good 30-45 minutes with our OB pts who develop gestational diabetes. We do not have a nutritionist etc in our office. Thank you in advance.

The rules are a bit complicated and payer specific, and also depend on whether the POS/provider is certified or non-certified. ADA link When I look at our guidelines, Medicare is the only payer shown that states service can be performed by physician or APP (vs RD, RN or nutritional professional) even though it must usually be billed under the physician... but this could just be my interpretation. Sorry can't be more help with this.
