Hello,
I need some help, I have been coding OB for sometime, however the physician that I am coding for now insist that we code a Global even if the patient was seen 4 times and didn't come to our practice until 35 weeks pregnant. I know that the example always states about 13 visits, or once a month up to 30 weeks, then twice a month up to 36 weks and then once a week.
Is this out of date. Can someone help me. do you bill a global regardless of the amount of visits, as long as the patient has not been to any other provider? thanks so much. Mary Chambers, CPC
