I am struggling with this. I have a locum that did a vaginal delivery, the actual provider arrived directly after the baby was delivered and delivered the placenta and repaired the episiotomy. The locum then left the room.
Would this be billed as a global delivery code or would be billed as a delivery with a Q6 modifier and the placenta delivery and repair of tear be billed separately. Any help with would be greatly appreciated!!!!
Thank you, Melinda

In our office we would bill the global. I was informed that if the doctor is in the hospital and arrives in the room just after the delivery, we still bill the global.
