Does anyone know how to bill for nursing skill when seeing an outpatient in the OB unit? so if a pt is in observation for an hour is that the same charge as if a patient is in observation for 4 hours. How do you charge for that observation code and level of skill the nurses provided to that patient?
My second question, how do we bill if the pt delivers twins....can we charge for each baby? We had a pt deliver triplets and we called in extra nursing staff however the charge was x 1 not x 3.....shouldnt we be able to bill all that we did times three. These babies were very sick and required lots of care.
Any help would be appreciated.
