My ultrasound tech is telling me that orders for an early trimester ultrasound that come to us only saying “pelvic with transvaginal” with a diagnosis of size and dates is not an acceptable order. She says that the order needs to stay early ob ultrasound or early trimester ultrasound in order for us to get paid.

I've been accepting these orders knowing by the clinical that the pt is pregnant.....what is everyone else's take on this matter? Does order need to state OB???
